So I realized that saving money on Internet is not always as easy as it used to be. I just got my mom the cheapest internet for her since she doesn't need much. All she does is want to watch videos or movies, use Skype, and surf the Internet. So I decided to call her internet provider to help her out. I couldn't believe what they tried to tell me.
So when I called I knew I wanted the Internet for $14.99. They wanted to ask me all the normal questions about how she uses the Internet. I didn't let them even try. I just asked for the slowest internet, which is now a whopping 1mbps. She was getting 15mbps. Hope she is not too spoiled from that now.
Anyways, while I was trying to get this plan they said they couldn't give me wifi on this plan because it would be too slow. Seriously!?! What right do they have to tell me that. So I didn't say anything because I didn't want to argue. I had just recently bought the router and modem at the store and hooked it up. So either way my mom was going to get wifi for the first time. (She is not too confident in the security of wireless devices.)
So she got the cheap internet and wifi too. So the point is: If you know what you want, don't have them ask you all the questions to help them decide what's best for you. You tell them. I mean, who is paying the bill here, us or them?
So, I hope this help less people get ripped off. Save your money especially if you never really need what they are selling you.
