Here I will explain how to display a movie on your Roku player from a DVD. The problem was that a friend let me borrow their TV and another friend let me borrow their Roku. Unfortunately, I don't have a DVD player that will work with the TV so I wanted to stream a DVD straight to the Roku from my MacBook Air. So without using any more money on buying cables or an actual DVD player, which would be the easiest solution, I decided to try to figure out how to play my Redbox movie on my big screen TV. Here is how I did it. 1. Download Plex Sign up for Plex and follow the instructions. 2. Install Plex on your Roku. You can search for the app on the Roku itself and download it there. 3. Download Handbreak Keep the default settings for ease of use. 4. Insert your DVD to your computer. I am using a Macbook Air with an attached DVD drive. 5. Rip the DVD using Handbreak to your computer and add it to the Plex Media Server You can use this with any DVD. Just make sure if you are renting the DVD that you delete the file when you return the DVD. Voila! There you go. Enjoy DVDs wirelessly streaming through your computer. NOTE: I DO NOT CONDONE ANY PIRATING WHATSOEVER. PIRATING IS ILLEGAL AND YOU SHOULD NOT DO IT. JUST RENT THE DVD FOR A DOLLAR IF YOU WANT TO WATCH IT AGAIN OR WAIT TILL IT COMES ON NETFLIX AND WATCH IT AS MANY TIMES AS YOU WANT.
